The third project-Lotus Pool

"Gears of My childhood" reminds me of several beautiful and unforgotten moments in my childhood.  I grew up besides Sichuan University in China and my grandparents were both professors of that university. In this case, my family is closely connected with this community. So that I could get touch with many memorable history of this place. This university was called West China Union University and it was established several missionaries from US and Canada. The beautiful campus is composed of architectures combined western and eastern style. Besides, the layout of the whole campus focus on the interaction between human and nature. Among those scenarios, the one I like the most is the lotus pool. I love the singing of the frogs at summer night, as well as the smell of the lotus flowers. So I was inspired to develop this simple game in Scratch. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/248979695/ By pressing the space key, frogs will accumulate their energy to get re...

The second project: Fireworks night

After learning about the basic steps to develop the turtle art project, I started to find one suitable topic to make my own turtle art piece. When I stand on the subway and scrolled down the photos on my phone,  I found this picture I took a few days ago when I walked along with friends at Hudson Rivers. Then I decided to create a different version of this photo to delete the city elements and add some fireworks to my art piece. When I searched on the turtle art gallery, I found a few art pieces I can borrow some elements. such as these two pieces: After analyzing their codes and elements, I was happy to adopt the boat elements and the fan-shaped object into my work. With the up-middle-down three-layered layout, I put the fireworks on the up-level of the whole piece and make boats close to the sea level. I adjusted the block codes from these two pieces including the shape the color and the position. With some experimental experience, I made this piece. ...

The first project of digital foundation class

I chose the “dancing cup” with the color response for this assignment. Since the interaction between human and computer should be highlighted in this process, I found it may be difficult to generate the instant feedback in this process. In this case, I decided to use the tool that utilizes the blockly code so that it thoughts could be easily applied to the project. Then I found Cospace and use it to create an interactive dancing cup scenery. At first, I chose a dusky room environment. In the second place, I selected “cup” from the object list in the “library” of the Cospace.   After learning some basic skills to organize the block code on Cospace,   I set an action to turn the cup clockwise to let it dance when the user clicks the cup. Meanwhile, the cup would change color and become larger. Here is the link of this project. https://cospac.es/8jsK I really appreciate the idea incorporated in the article”All I need to know about creative thinking I learne...
